The Yoga Class:
All levels are encouraged to challenge and stimulate their
bodies by letting go from the inside out, which teaches warmth, patience, peace
and acceptance of the self. Increase strength, balance and flexibility. Improve
concentration and mental focus. Classes offer practice in meditation, pranayama,
asana, savasana and may incorporate some of the philosophy and techniques practiced
in a variety of yoga traditions (Freedom style).
Spring/Summer 2009 Yoga Schedule Where/When:
*Lead, Christ Church, downstairs use back door, 631 W. Main Street
Monday, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. - This class will meet weekly in June and July. It is a creative blend of postures, vinyasa flow, breath work and meditation techniques. It is suitable for enthusiastic beginners as well as seasoned yogis. Expect a practice that will leave you recharged, refreshed and peaceful.
Thursday, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. - This class will meet weekly in June and may continue into July depending on interest. The focus will be classical hatha yoga to regain flexibility, develop core strength, alleviate pain and cope with stress. We will work on correct form in a broad assortment of poses along with breath work and relaxation techniques. The class is well suited for beginners at all levels.

Tuesday, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. - 6 week yoga session. Classes begin April 7th and will meet weekly through May 12th. Classical hatha yoga at a moderate pace. A creative blend of postures, breath work and meditation techniques. This class is well suited for beginners at all levels. $66 for full session or $14 for a single class. Pre-registration is preferred; however, isn't required for attendance as drop-ins will be welcomed. You can either register with BFACC or Tesla. Yoga mats will be available for use. Bring along a blanket.
What to Wear & What to Bring: For the yoga classes please come with an empty stomach or as empty as possible. Allow 3-4 hours after a large meal or 1 to 2 hours after a snack. Wear loose comfortable clothing and have bare feet. All equipment will be provided for the classes. Some students prefer to bring their own equipment.
Quality tapas mats, yoga bags, foam blocks, straps, eye pillows, yoga books, music and DVD/videos are also available for purchase on the Shopping page.
Instructor: Tesla Star Keehn, a student of yoga since the late sixties has been actively teaching yoga classes in the Black Hills for the last 12 years. Having studied with a variety of teachers over the years her style if often referred to as Freedom Style in the yoga world, an eclectic blend of all she has learned in the journey. All students are welcome from beginning to intermediate/advanced levels. Tesla also offers private yoga classes and workshops in Reiki and Essential Oil therapies.
